Granite adds beauty to your kitchen but a stain can change that. Granite is porous so stains need to be removed immediately. They have to be removed properly so the stone doesn't get ruined. Don't use abrasives. They can scratch the stone and ruin its appearance. Combine 2 tsp of liquid dish soap to a quart of warm water. Clean the stain with the solution two or three times. Mix 2 tbsp of flour with 2 drops of liquid dish soap until it makes a thick paste.Cover the stain with the paste and rub with a non abrasive sponge. Allow to dry on the stain. Wipe the dried paste off with a damp wahcloth.
Use a commercial granite stone soap to apply over the area. Read the instructions and then rinse off with a wet washcloth. Repeat until it comes off.
